Wavetrac ATB differential for the Audi/VAG 0CR rear differential
Wavetrac is the only torsen limited slip differential on the market that does not lose all drive when an axle completely loses traction. This can happen during aggressive driving, cornering, extremely slippery surfaces, etc. It happens more than most people realize.
With Wavetrac: the patented cam component in the Wavetrac prevents loss of drive when that inner wheel completely loses traction. The lockup can generate a load within the diff (to replace lost grip when it occurs), which can then be preloaded into the lockup mechanism - ultimately delivering more consistent power delivery through a corner. This makes the car more predictable and faster overall.
Other benefits:
Patented carbon fiber bias plate for the gears. All other LSDs of the torque type run the gears on the housing, meaning friction at 0 km of use is different than after 1,000 km, so effectiveness is less over the life of the diff.
The patented Wave profile eliminates the effect of driveability problems near and zero load in all other ATB LSDs of the torsen type.
ARP bolts are used throughout for superior, faster reliability.
9310 steel gears run in billet or forged steel housing.
