Top fuel L19 flywheel bolt kit
Material: L19
L19: This is a premium steel that is processed to deliver superior strength and fatigue properties. L19 is a very high strength material compared to 8740 and ARP2000 and is capable of delivering a clamp load at 260,000 psi. It is primarily used in short track and drag racing applications where inertia loads exceed the clamping capability of ARP2000. Like most high strength, quench and temper steels – L19 requires special care during manufacturing to avoid hydrogen embrittlement. This material is easily contaminated and subject to stress corrosion. It must be kept well-oiled and not exposed to moisture.
Tensile strength: 260,000 psi
Installation Instructions
Part Number: 200-2805
Application: TOP FUEL (L19) 1/2 DIA.
Flywheel Bolt with Washer- Installation
[1]
Please check the part-number(s) for your application
against the part-number(s) listed on the instruction
sheet.
[2]
Position the chamfered side of the washer on the bolt
so it faces the bolt head. This is done to clear the
radius on the under head of the bolt. Note: Improper
installation of the washer will cause premature bolt
failure.
[3]
Lubricate the threads of the bolt with LOCTITE 242
and the under head of the bolt with ARP ULTRA-
TORQUE FASTENER ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT.
[4]
Install the flywheel onto the crankshaft and tighten the
bolts hand tight.
[5]
Using an alternating or criss cross pattern, torque the
bolts to 135 ft lbs using the specified lubricants
in Step 3.
