Differential ratio adjustment, why and when.

In the differential, 2 separate sets of gears turn. 1 set of gears is made to turn different wheel speeds so the car can go through the corner, these are the gears that differentiate. The other set of gears is your final drive or differential ratio. These gears determine how much torque you send to the wheels and what your top speed is.
