Made for the M52/M54 (but fits all M5x / S5x) in combination with a standard M52/M54 5-speed 10-spline clutch kit. The flywheel is made of very strong Chromoly and weighs only 5.5kg (standard M52 dual mass is 11.6kg).
There are of course clutch kits available with a stronger plate and/or heavier pressure group, which can also be applied to this flywheel. This can be interesting if driving with a lot of power. For example, sets from Sachs performance.
Due to the low weight, it will greatly improve the response of the engine and acceleration also increases. Less power is needed to rev the flywheel and this power reaches the wheels immediately. (less drive-train-loss)

General information about flywheels:
It is a widespread belief that a larger/heavier flywheel is used to give the engine more torque, and that the torque will decrease with a lighter flywheel. This is NOT the case. Heavy flywheels are purely used for easy engagement of the clutch so that grandma can drive off without stalling, nothing more and nothing less. Once the car rolls, a heavy flywheel becomes completely unnecessary. The driveline and the weight of the car already have so much momentum that a heavy flywheel does not add much. Extra weight, especially on the crankshaft, then makes the car less fast in terms of acceleration. So if you don't intend to drive like a granny then a light flywheel gives only advantage.
The experience is that the engine response is much better and the car accelerates a lot faster!
