Main features of the kit:

CrMo tool steel crankshaft hub to be used with ATI or PCE super dampers

Lightweight 60-2 trigger wheel made of high tensile Domex steel (except M52TU / M54 / S52 kit with trigger at the back of the engine block*)

A/C pulley not compatible with the kits

Check/adjust TDC / ignition timing after installing

Can be used on M50 non-Vanos engine, but requires trigger settings as on a Vanos engine due to different position of missing teeth

Why do you need one?
If you're building a serious horsepower BMW engine, here's a proper solution to replace the old cranky damper wheel! No more broken harmonic balancers, loosen up crankshaft bolt or oil pump issues, a precise crank signal due to undamped solid trigger wheel. ATI / PCE super dampers are rebuildable and can be tuned with different hardness o-rings.
Does it fit my car?
The kit can be used in BMW M50 / M52 / M52TU / M54 / S52 / M30 / M88 / S38B35 / S38B36 engines in addition of ATI or PCE super damper shell. See available variations.
ATI #917071 or PCE291.1082 super damper shell and longer 6PK1600 belt required for M50 / M52 / M52TU / M54 / S52 engines
ATI #917073 super damper shell and custom multi rib drive belt system required for M30 / M88 / S38B35 / S38B36 engines. ATI #917020 (2-ring) and #917030 (3-ring) blank shell with no multi-rib grooves.

How about the lifetime and service of the kit?
The kit does not need service while in use, always use Loctite on bolts and screws that might become loose. The kits have been proven on street and track applications by hundreds of our customers. We're constantly doing R&D to make the kits even better, all improvements are based on customer feedback which is very important to us. Any of the spare parts can be also bought separately from us.
We want to keep our customers 100% happy thus we're only using the best materials and manufacturing processes available. CNC machined parts are highest quality CrMo tool steel with black QPQ finish and precision cut and machined Domex steel, all fasteners meet European quality standards.
