BMW M3, Z4M, M5 and M6 limited slip differential overhaul + installation Quaife

The standard differential often exhibits play on 1 side over time causing a thump and eventually leakage, this is due to the asymmetrical design of the GKN collet bell. So usually we install a different type of limited slip clutch that does not have this problem, as installing a still good original BMW (GKN) limited slip clutch will often eventually cause the same problem again. You may also suffer from a singing sound and grinding in the oil, this indicates worn bearings.

This article combines a complete overhaul with replacing the recoil bell. If you only suffer from singing/buzzing/leakage you can also opt for the separate overhaul, or if you only suffer from a pounding (or grinding) in the tensioner bell you could have only the tensioner bell change done.
