Wavetrac is the only Torsen limited-slip differential on the market that does not lose all drive when one axle completely loses traction. This can happen during aggressive driving, cornering, on extremely slippery surfaces, etc. It happens more often than most people realize.
With Wavetrac: the patented cam component in the Wavetrac prevents loss of drive when that inner wheel completely loses traction. The limited-slip differential can generate a load within the diff (to compensate for lost traction when it occurs), which can then be preloaded into the locking mechanism—ultimately delivering more consistent power delivery through a turn. This makes the car more predictable and faster overall.
Other advantages:
Patented carbon fiber bias plate for the gears. All other Torsen-type LSDs allow the gears to run directly on the housing, which means that friction at 0 km is different than after 1,000 km, so effectiveness decreases over the diff’s lifespan.
The patented Wave profile eliminates the effect of drivability issues near zero load found in all other Torsen-type ATB LSDs.
ARP bolts are used throughout for superior, long-lasting reliability.
9310 steel gears run in a billet or forged steel housing.
