Precision Gearing T-2 Torsen limited-slip differential compatible with the BMW 215K/L(W) rear differential for a ratio of 2.81 or lower. In terms of operation, it is identical to the Mfactory or Quaife versions and nearly identical to a Wavetrac. It operates completely silently and smoothly, making it ideal for street use, and maintenance is limited to oil changes.
It performs much better than a racing differential lock conversion or an open differential, but for motorsports and serious drifting, we recommend a plate-type differential lock. However, a plate-type differential lock is not available at the competitive price of this model.
This Torsen works like any other Torsen. You can read more about it here: https://hardemanmotorsport.nl/sper-differentielen-vergelijken/torsen-sper-differentieel/
The BMW 215K/L(W) differential has been used since the E39 up to the present on cars with roughly 325pk and more.
The “Additional Information” section lists compatible models, but these may include both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
For cars with a lower gear ratio, the same type and brand of limited-slip differential is available with a different product code.
Please note: on later E-series and all F-series BMWs, the ring gear is welded in place, and there are additional costs for installing the limited-slip differential.
