GT2CD
The Grand Touring kit is the latest development in the OS Giken clutch line and utilizes all the multi-plate technology from the racing division. But with the addition of OS Giken’s own unique “Floating Pressure System” to provide a smooth and shock-free driving experience. The GT2CD features a dual-plate configuration.
This clutch is suitable for cars with over 450pk and, thanks to its excellent controllability, is well-suited for street use. OS Giken clutches always include a single-mass flywheel and a new thrust bearing.
The flywheel and clutch together weigh around 18 kg. This is about 20% lighter than an OEM dual-mass flywheel, keeping the kit relatively street-friendly. Upon request, the flywheel can be made lighter if you don’t mind a little extra vibration and noise.
In our experience, this is the best dual-plate clutch available, offering the following features:
- Can handle high power output or heavy use, such as drifting.
- It’s easy to modulate, just like the original clutch.
- No heavier pedal feel, so it’s no problem even in traffic.
- Includes a lighter single-mass flywheel for faster acceleration.
- Precisely balanced to meet motorsport requirements and highly suitable for high-revving applications.
- Can withstand the high temperatures of motorsport conditions.
- Replacement parts are readily available.
These kits aren’t really designed for heavy slipping; they work fine, but slipping while waiting at a traffic light on a hill isn’t recommended because it will cause the clutch to wear out faster.
The clutch may produce slightly more noise than a standard set when idling or at low RPMs.
