ATS differential plates for the rear axle of the S13 180SX, 200SX, and Z32 (300ZX without turbos) with an R200 differential. This limited-slip differential is only available for cars that originally had an open differential. For cars with a viscous differential, a different model is available.
The ATS limited-slip differential is a plate-type differential with between 12 and 16 locking plates and a choice of 10, 15, or 20 kg of preload.

This is the carbon/metal hybrid model that combines the advantages of both friction materials.
The hybrid carbon LSD is a limited-slip differential that reduces wear on carbon particles and counteracts the loss of initial torque by positioning metal plates in the correct locations between the carbon plates.
Note: It is not possible to completely stop the decrease in initial torque. However, the rate of this decrease can be reduced by readjusting the initial torque 3 to 4 times.
Usage data from the past five years, both nationally and internationally, show that the performance and driving feel of hybrid carbon LSDs are indistinguishable from those of full-carbon LSDs; only the durability has been improved. By slowing the decrease in initial torque, fluctuations in the LSD’s locking action are minimized. This increases the precision of the adjustments to the individual components and accelerates the driver’s learning process.
Because the plates in contact with the cam ring wear out quickly, these two carbon plates have been replaced with metal plates in the hybrid version. The metal plate and the carbon plate are positioned symmetrically relative to the cross shaft. Since there is a difference in thickness between the metal plate and the carbon plate, this difference is compensated for by adjusting the thickness of the spacers or springs. The initial torque is adjusted within a range of 30 to 70 kgm, based on ATS’s experience and track record.
