A drexler plate type LSD for the first-generation Dodge Viper (including the GTS).
Drexler makes high end LSD for street and motorsport cars from original AMG to GT4 and DTM race cars. We can supply this barrier in different configurations, street, track, drift or rally use. 40%, 60%, 75% and in between is all possible.
In addition, these locking differentials are also very strong.
In order to install this LSD, a modification of the drive shaft flanges is required. (Please contact us for installation)
Why a plate differential instead of the standard torsen?
Basically a Torsen works as such , that, torque, grip and steering angle determine where the power goes, but as soon as 1 wheel slips the lock goes to work to correct that. A mechanical type LSD works differently, it "processes" the torque before it gets to the wheels and depending on how much torque gets to the differential, the differential tightens the plates more or less, thus more or less lock. This is much more predictable to a driver because it means the differential locks harder or less depending on how much throttle is given instead of something that is hard to predict like, how much grip does one wheel or the other have. Combined with a lockup that works well perceptibly, so not an overly weak setup, this gives a big boost in confidence and grip at and over the limit of tire grip.
